Since 1992, the Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Award has been presented to established companies and newly founded start-ups in recognition of their innovative achievements and entrepreneurial work. The competition is supported by partners from industry and other institutions. Since the first award ceremony, more than 180 winners have been selected and honored from over 4,560 applicants.
WeldNova GmbH has developed an approach that revolutionizes the welding process in the manufacture of steel towers for wind turbines, for example. The new technology can secure important competitive advantages for the German wind industry. Thanks to the innovative technology, WeldNova enables manufacturing companies in steel construction to significantly increase their competitiveness. For example, 90% of welding costs can be reduced and production capacities increased by up to 8 times.
